Birthing with BAM (Bay Area Maternity)
This class series (4 parts) is taught with El Camino Maternity (Bay Area Maternity: BAM) patients in mind, but is relevant to ALL pregnant people who plan to birth their baby in a hospital setting. Class covers all of the basics of a complete childbirth prep series:
Pregnancy comfort techniques
The "emotional map of labor"-labor stages
Applying effective comfort measures and how your partner can help through the process
Understanding interventions & curveballs in the laboring process
Common newborn procedures & a look into what happens just after birth of baby
Suggested time frame: complete by: 37 weeks

Birthing 101
Birthing 101 is a one-time foundational class to learn about birthing basics. Attendees will gain an understanding of how the labor and birth process unfolds, including the signs and stages of labor, and what to expect throughout the laboring process.
This class is a suggested prerequisite for most of the workshops on The Nesting Spot’s A La Carte menu, including Practical Techniques for a Confident Birth which generally occurs one week later.
Suggested time frame: 27-32 weeks

Practical Techniques for a Confident Birth
Learn non-pharmaceutical pain management for any setting—home, hospital, or birth center—in this interactive, fun class.
What we’ll cover:
Movement & Tools: Position practice, labor props (peanut/birth balls), and hydrotherapy.
Comfort & Connection: Breathwork, massage, vocalization, and aromatherapy.
Timing & Strategy: When to head to your birth location and early coping strategies.
Ideal for: Anyone planning a low-intervention birth, wanting to cope at home before an epidural, or looking for a refresher for a subsequent pregnancy. Partners welcome!
