My Services

  • Private Prenatal Breast/Chestfeeding Education

Preparing for your baby's arrival is a time filled with excitement and planning. As you prepare the nursery and pack your hospital bag, one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is the confidence to feed your baby. My private prenatal education session is a personalized, comprehensive class designed to cut through the noise of online advice and empower you and your partner with the knowledge you need for a smooth and positive start.

We'll create a comfortable, judgment-free space to answer all your questions, so you can walk into your birth experience feeling calm, prepared, and ready to meet your baby.

This private class is perfect for you if:

    - You want to feel fully prepared and reduce anxiety about feeding your newborn.

    - You're a first-time parent who wants to learn the fundamentals from a trusted expert.

    - You had a challenging feeding experience with a previous baby and want a better start this time.

    - You want your partner to be an active, knowledgeable, and confident support person.

    - You plan to pump and want to understand the equipment and strategies before the baby arrives.

    - You want to learn in the privacy and comfort of your own home, on your own schedule.

What We Can Cover During Our 2-Hour Session Together

This class is tailored entirely to you. We'll focus on your specific questions, hopes, and concerns. Here are the core topics we can explore to build your feeding foundation:

    - The Science of Milk-Making: We'll demystify the amazing process of lactation, helping you understand the "why" behind the "how." We’ll cover supply and demand and what you can do to encourage a robust milk supply from day one.

    - The First 48 Hours: Learn what to expect in the hospital, from the importance of the "Golden Hour" after birth to the magic of colostrum. We'll discuss normal newborn feeding patterns so you know what's typical in those early days.

    - Latch & Positioning Fundamentals: Using a demonstration doll and pillows, we'll get hands-on practice with different feeding positions. You'll learn the key signs of a deep, comfortable latch, which is the foundation for successful feeding.

    - Recognizing Baby's Cues: Learn to distinguish between hunger cues, sleepy cues, and comfort needs. Feeling confident in what your baby is communicating is a huge part of a peaceful postpartum experience.

    - Building Your Support Team: We'll discuss the vital role of a partner or support person and give them concrete tools to help you succeed. We'll also create a plan for when and how to ask for help if challenges arise.

    - Pump & Bottle Basics: We can discuss different types of pumps, when to introduce a bottle (if you choose to), and how to use paced bottle-feeding to support your feeding goals.

My goal is to replace your worries with knowledge and your uncertainty with confidence, empowering you to trust your body and your baby.

Please Note: As a Lactation Educator, my role is to provide education and support to prepare you for your experience. I do not provide medical advice or clinical care for pre-existing conditions. If you have specific medical concerns, I highly encourage you to also connect with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) as part of your prenatal planning.

My In-Home Postpartum & Feeding Support Visit is designed to bring calm, clarity, and personalized education right to your couch, helping you navigate this new chapter with confidence and peace of mind.

    - You're home from the hospital and want reassurance that things are on the right track.

    - You're feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice and want clear, evidence-based information.

    - You have questions about normal newborn feeding patterns (like "Is this much feeding normal?" or "What is cluster feeding?").

    - You'd like to review comfortable feeding positions now that you're home and healing.

    - You received a breast pump and want hands-on guidance for setting it up and learning how to use it effectively.

    - You simply want a calm, knowledgeable professional to listen to your concerns and tell you you're doing a great job.

What We Can Cover During Our 90-Minute Session Together

Our time is flexible and completely tailored to your needs. We can focus on one or two key areas or touch on several topics. Here are some of the things we can work on:

    - Answering Your Questions: We’ll start with whatever is most on your mind. No question is too small! We'll talk through your experience so far and address your specific concerns.

    - Comfort and Positioning: We can review different feeding positions (like laid-back, side-lying, or football hold) to help you find what feels most comfortable and sustainable for you and your baby.

    - Understanding Your Baby: We'll discuss how to recognize your baby’s unique hunger and fullness cues, helping you feel more in sync with their needs. We'll also talk through normal newborn behavior, from feeding patterns to sleepy cues.

    - Pumping & Feeding Basics:

    - Pump 101: We can unbox your pump, review how to assemble and clean it, and I'll teach you how to check for a proper flange fit to maximize your comfort and output.

    - Milk Storage: We'll go over the current CDC guidelines for safely storing expressed milk.

    - Paced Feeding: If a partner will be helping with feeds, I can demonstrate the paced feeding technique, which supports the breastfeeding relationship.

    - Creating Your Postpartum Plan: We can chat about creating a practical plan for rest, nourishment, and support during these crucial early weeks.

My goal is to leave you feeling validated, reassured, and equipped with the knowledge you need to trust your instincts. You are the expert on your baby; I'm here to be your guide.

Please Note: As a Lactation Educator, my role is to provide education and support. I do not perform clinical assessments, weigh your baby, or diagnose medical issues.
